THE PRECIOUS YOU
PROLOGUE
April 1995,
Her name was Paayal. She was a 16 years old teenage
girl from Pune who was chirpy and loving in nature. Her mother passed away due
to jaundice when she was 6 months old baby. Though her father didn’t marry
after that he failed to give love to her. He gave her every materialistic
essential to live, but not love.
Though Paayal missed her mother’s love deep inside,
she was happy and cheerful towards life. But life is always unpredictable.
Everything may change within a blink of an eye. Paayal’s life and her thoughts
about life too changed on that day when she went to a village festival with her
elder brother.
During the festival, when everyone was busy in the
mood of the festival, a stranger dragged her out of the crowd and sexually
assaulted her.
Though she tried hard to escape from him, her strength
was not enough in front of the 40 years old strong muscled man. She was left
with physical and mental scars on that day. Her chirpy nature was gone and she
became more silent, depressed and sometimes grumpy too. Her everyday became a
nightmare and her nights became sleepless. Life seemed hopeless to her.
She thought that she has been stained by an
unremovable stain on her body and she hated herself for that. The incident
deeply affected her and she couldn’t come out of that tragic and painful
incident. Usually, a caterpillar will break the cocoon and come out as a
butterfly. But here, it was more like a butterfly which had many cheerful
colors has changed into a caterpillar and imprisoned in the cocoon. Will she
ever come out of the trauma and emerge a happy butterfly again?
